Spark Boldly Closes a 2nd Wendy’s Acquisition Only a Month After Their First

In the first week of October 2021, the biggest and boldest acquisition in the history of Spark took place. Sixty four Wendy’s units in San Antonio, TX and Dayton, OH became part of the Spark family, an organization defined by its strong focus on innovation in a changing industry and its emphasis in cultivating culture and supporting its people.

On November 8th, only a month later, 4 more Wendy’s stores were added to the list of the company’s assets to make an impressive total of 68 Wendy’s units and 8 Buffalo Wild Wings units.

These high-quality, high-volume units are located in a heavily transited area between Cincinnati and Dayton, and have a strong focus on speed of service to tend to the needs of all commuters that choose to stop at their stores.

With this purchase, Spark has become the 12th largest franchisee in the system, with the added value of having numerous legacy stores in stock. These legacy stores are historical units that saw the first days of Wendy’s journey of growth in America and were even visited by the original founder of the brand, Dave Thomas, back in the early days of the brand. Stores 10th, 11th, 16th and 295th stores, to name a few, now proudly perform under Spark’s management.

As the first experience with Wendy’s has been exciting and fruitful, the Spark team is thrilled to be a part of Wendy’s, and is eager to continue to grow with another world-class brand.

This new acquisition sums up to the latest challenge we’ve taken on: aligning with Wendy’s brand strategy to Image Activate 60% of the units by the end of 2021, 75% by 2022 and 100% by 2023. We can’t wait to take these new stores to the next level.
